Yep, I’m back….after a good month of not being here. (Not even visiting this hell-hole) Got back from GA, the 2nd. Didn’t care enough to get back on here and now I finally decided I should post to tell all of you that care (none of you) that I’m alive. Pretty sure most people who follow me knew regardless cause of twitter, but now everyone knows. Not much to say right now, I’ll just let my crap randomly flow on here as time passes so I guess you’ll all have to wait for something that may be kinda important except not really.
Or at least HipHopDX has. What? Why some artists appear to some people and others don’t. (Or at least part of it)
Basically HipHopDX took two popular heads in the Hip-Hop game these days; Drake and Kid Coochie. And analyzed what they have in common, they’re always rapping about being depressed about not fitting in with their surroundings or anybody around them. (Peep Drake’s Say What’s Real and any Coochie song.) This thread flows throughout the new Hip-Hop community and some artists pull it off well, while others are just straight up bitchin’ it up. While if we take a look at artists back in the day they spoke about more important things; NWA/Ice Cube with Police Brutality, Pac with his fate, and Scarface with murder.
Now with these new cats it’s as if the ‘bigger’ problems addressed by older artists are fixed or are normal while fitting in just seems to be their biggest mission in life. Drake and Coochie and those like them, just want to make it seem like they’re making a difference with the Hip-Hop game while meanwhile they’re all bitching about the same thing in unison. Which sure isn’t a problem to show you’re sad about being a loner, but when you do 10 songs about the same thing I want to take a pipe and knock you upside the head until your ears and nose shift place. With this we can take a look at their fans and see that they mimic their options constantly bitching about life and how they don’t fit in while those are fans of the old school worry more about bigger issues in life. Along with that it has seemed to have destroyed the community/culture feeling that Hip-Hop once had and turned it into a thing of groups where few people actually step out of their circle to collab and make good music.
And those were my 2 1/2 cents, I will now get the fuck out of here to do better things. Peace, love, and J-Dilla.
For those who care (all 1 1/2 of you), I won’t be in NYC from Wednesday August 12th - Wednesday September 2nd. I’m going to be down south in Georgia getting away from all the city/vacationing. So I won’t be posting on Tumblr until I get back. I’ll probably have random crap that I’ll post up having to do with my vacation when I get back. But I will be using twitter down there cause there’s an app for it on my phone. So if you really want to keep up with my tomfoolery down south, go ahead and follow me on twitter. Aside from that, you’re WeeGee free from the 12th - 2nd. Enjoy that vacation because I will come back and give tumblr hell when I get back.
Why are you sighing? Do you listen to Atmosphere? o.0
Yes… and he doesn’t beat Lu. I’ll give you Jay-Z.
How extensive is your Atmosphere knowledge? I really dislike Lupe. Ugh.
…how extensive is your Lupe knowledge?
Don’t answer my question with a question sir.
How the fuck can you give Jay-Z, but not Lupe. Lupe is the definition of an ‘alright’ hip-hop artist. He hasn’t done any songs that every hip-hop listener should know, or album for that fact. I won’t argue out the Atmosphere over Jay because I value my life.
After going back and reading a few of my posts I kinda noticed that I seem like an angry ass person, but I’m not. It’s probably because I write most if not all of my serious stuff on here, but I’m not all that serious outside of tumblr. (no, seriously) If you’ve talked to me before whether it be in person or on AIM or even from my videos; PLUG1PLUG2, you can tell I joke around a lot. Just felt I needed to post that for the fuck of it and to plug in my youtube channel and vimeo video…yea fuck off.
I’m not gonna get on Tumblr and read people’s posts when I’m in a positive mood because goddamn ya niggas know how to write some depressing sappy shit. It’s like most tumblr-heads stay on some angsty mood. I’m not saying that ya’ll need to shut the fuck up and do something else, but people need to learn to move on in life. Life is short and if you’re spending most of your time at home bitching to people online where only about 5% care about your shit like that because they do the same thing, then you’re fuckin up. Of course there’s a bunch of you that do it for attention or at least seem like you are and I just feel like choking your tonsils out through your ears, but that’s beside the point. I’ll probably get a few people offended with this shit and if I do then I know I’m doin something right and if you think I care that I offended you, then by all means hit that unfollow button.
Dane Cook. I swear I don’t see what people find so funny about this dude. I’m gonna keep it real though, he was good for a chuckle back two-three years ago or the first time you hear his Kool-Aid joke. But after that it’s just a pathetic attempt at trying to make people laugh. I feel like all he’s doing is rambling on about stupid crap that nobody really cares about and yelling into the microphone to put emphasis on his ‘jokes’. It’s definitely not me because I find nearly any other comedian on the planet funnier than Dane Cook and I laugh at stupid stuff really easily. But Dane Cook is just one of those people that I would like to meet just so I can uppercut them for their own good, in this case so maybe he could get some jokes.
I could also take this farther as to say it’s because he’s white. And to you that may sound racist and if it does then you probably need to unfollow me because you drew a conclusion before I elaborated. Because he’s white I don’t feel a connection to his jokes like a would to a comedian who is a minority, whether it be Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, Eddie Murphy, etc. Dane Cook doesn’t talk about stuff that’s funny to me because I can relate to it or will probably ever relate to. This is backed up when I see his stand up and look at the crowd (predominantly white and sprinkle a few minorities) and look at Chappelle’s or Lopez’ (predominantly black and latino, but also a chunk of white people).
My final theory about Dane Cook; he’s only funny when you’re high or something. His jokes are rather childish and seem like something that a pothead would spend hours pissing his/herself over. But it is what it is, he’s just not funny.
