Columbus Day

In 1492, Columbus sailed the Ocean blue and had his people rape and kill the natives up the canal of poo poo. I don’t get this day, am I supposed to be happy and celebrating the death of people just because some country wanted to expand its power? Or happy that even though people were killed, raped, and stolen from; in the end it all worked out and we became one big ‘happy’ culture? I think the only positive thing that comes from this day and lets keep it real, a day off from school. They don’t really tell us WHY we have it off, but as long as I don’t have to be in school I’m happy. Now if only they would tell the truth to kids about Columbus Day rather than telling them that Columbus was and his people were nice to the natives, maybe I should become a teacher just for that (PSYCHE!). But in the spirit of Columbus Day, I’m gonna take some food that belongs to my mom or dad and call it my own just so I can benefit from it. Now if only I can find a way to make a lowscale genocide…
